The West Virginia Partners of the Americas is a private, non-profit, non-partisan organization that develops leadership, understanding and opportunity in the Western Hemisphere. For more than forty years, caring and compassionate people - just like you - have volunteered their time and resources to strengthen cultural awareness and appreciation. Even today, we maintain a unique relationship with the people of Espirito Santo, Brazil. Together, we create opportunities that inspire hope for all and celebrate the richness of our diversity. This Chapters Community Development & Service Objective is to provide assistance to children in a rural community in Espirito Santo.

- was inspired by President John F. Kennedy, who in 1963 launched the Alliance for Progress, a program of government-to-government economic cooperation across the Western Hemisphere. At the same time, Kennedy also called for a parallel people-to-people initiative, one that would allow private citizens to work together for the good of the Americas Partners was built – and continues to thrive – upon enduring relationships across borders. Working together, staff and some 7,000 volunteers throughout the Americas bring expertise in the areas of: • Civil Society & Governance • Exchanges & Fellowships • Gender & Equality • Youth & Children • Agriculture & Environment
